Ah, Phuket—a name that instantly evokes visions of turquoise waters, lush jungles, and a vibrant culture that entices the soul. But what if I told you that Phuket is more than just a tropical paradise? It’s also a place where spirituality, beauty, and mindfulness converge. It’s a soulful sanctuary, waiting for you to discover its deeper layers.
Flying into Phuket International Airport is usually the quickest and most straightforward method. Many international flights connect directly, so you might even find yourself landing in paradise without a layover. Does it get any more divine?
However, if you are like us and are traveling indefinitely. We actually hired Krabi transfers day before going from Ao Nang beach, Krabi for 3000 Baht (£66 one way), and coming back we tried Bolt app, as suggested by Nick from Club Unique (more on that later in blog) which it arrived in 3 mins from booking it, so easy, and was quoted 2365 Baht (£53 one way)
But watch out as they can change this price which they did to £73 one way, a considerable amount but we did receive a refund once I contacted customer service.
Hostels like Lub D and Bodega offer the comfort and community you crave without breaking the bank. It is a party island after all!
For a sumptuous experience, consider staying at 5 star Zenseana Resort & Spa, where your well-being is the primary focus. Where we were it was a digital heaven from the shower to the air-con, but beware it’s between two mosques that are very loud every couple of hours.
Living costs can vary, but expect to spend anywhere from £800 to £3,000 per month, depending on your lifestyle. Remember, Phuket offers a spiritual richness that can’t be quantified in monetary terms. It is considerably more expensive than other islands that we visited.
A masterpiece in its own right, known for its Grand Pagoda. This has amazing energy within the Pagodas as they have a piece of Buddhas bone. The architecture of the largest temple in Phuket and the most visited by tolurists was sublime and very creative in their design, but a typical Buddhist temple in stature. You can learn more here.
Can you believe it? A 45-meter-tall statue that is also a temple. Talk about awe-inspiring! I have been here a few times now and it is as beautiful as I remember it last year. We drove to this beautiful statue, and seen considerable positive changes to the surroundings from last year. I loved the 7 minute Buddhist meditation that you do with your hands. You really can feel the change in energy vibration when you do this, and it’s very easy to do!
𝗣𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗽 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲: Standing at the southernmost point of the island, this place offers an incredible sense of connection with the surroundings. The view is truly mesmerising.
𝗡𝗮𝗶 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵: Overlooking the lighthouse on Promthep Cape, this beach not only provides scenic beauty but also a wonderful restaurant at the end where you can savor delicious meals.
𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵: If you’re seeking a cosmopolitan beach experience away from the hustle and bustle, Karon Beach is your sanctuary.
𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵: This beach stretches far and wide, though it can get quite busy, especially near Bangla Road. It’s worth a visit for its lively atmosphere.
𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵: For a quieter beach experience, head to Kata Beach, where you can find tranquility by the shores.
𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁: This viewpoint offers not only breathtaking vistas but also a sense of inner peace. We visited it on our way back from Phrom Thep Cape, and the experience was simply divine.
𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗴𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘆: The view here is nothing short of absolute stunningness, a visual treat for the soul that will stay etched in your memory forever.
𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘁 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗵𝗲: Despite the monsoon approaching, we couldn’t resist capturing the outstanding views and Instagram-worthy moments in Phang Nga. It’s a bit of a drive from Patong but worth every minute.
𝗙𝘂𝗴𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯: Although a bit on the pricey side, the dining experience here is worth every penny. With their own DJ and fire show, it’s a sensory journey you won’t forget.
𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁: Located at the top of Bangla Road and walk to the left, this charming eatery is both budget-friendly and cheerful, offering a unique dining experience.
𝗡𝗼.𝟲 𝗨𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹: For amazing views and delectable food, don’t miss No.6 restaurant, which happens to be right next to Dang Restaurant which is No.6 restaurant, to get up the hill they have an authentic open sided bus to take you the 10-minute drive to get some outstanding views of Phuket.
𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 & 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹: Here, you’ll find the most delicious Caesar salad on the island, and it won’t break the bank. It’s a must-visit for budget-conscious travelers. The Chicken noodle soup was heaven.
𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗶𝗷𝗮𝗶 𝗖𝗮𝗳𝗲, 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻: If you’re a fan of Massaman curry, this is the place to be. Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable, allowing you to savor every bite without worry.
𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗯: When you just want a take-away, this is a great option as food is generally with you within 30 minutes, but keep trying if the restaurant cancel your order, and remember to tip the driver too.
We understand the importance of smooth transportation, and Phuket Wheels proved to be an excellent choice for car hire. With reasonable rates and a straightforward process, it allowed us to navigate the ordered chaos of Phuket with ease.
Grab and Bolt app’s are a convenient way to get around, especially when you’re feeling tired.
Oh, you guys, you wouldn’t believe the serendipity that unfolded on the sandy shores of Patong Bay. So there we were, Dave and I, strolling along, embracing that beachy glow, when these two Indian guys approached us. Now, I’ll admit, my internal alarms started blaring, “Time-share! Time-share!”
But you know what they say: “The Universe works in mysterious ways!” Something about the way one of the guys passionately insisted, “No, no, I want to give you a gift,” made us halt our seaside saunter.
That intuition—always listen to it!—was spot-on because lo and behold, I had the winning card!
Still, a part of me was like, “Okay, this can’t be that great, can it?” Enter Nik from Club Unique who welcomed us to the lush Patong Bay Hill Resort. At this point, I’m still wearing my skeptical hat (it’s a very stylish hat, mind you).
But then we met Rich, the Manager, and oh my stars! He started to unravel this treasure of a package they were offering.
Get this, fellow luxury travelers: with this deal, we’d get up to 70% off at over a million hotels, cruises, and apartments worldwide.
What?!
We’re talking the Marriots, the Four Seasons, the Hyatts, the Sheratons, and even the Radissons. And the cherry on top? This isn’t a one-off thing; it’s a 5-year (they even offer 20-year periods) bonanza of luxury experiences.
But wait, there’s more! Free hotels in Europe, you say?
Plus, the ability to book any week we want in a 5-year window?
It’s like the Universe aligned all its celestial bodies just to offer us this deal.
We were practically cutting out the middle man—sorry, Booking.com—and going direct with Club Unique for a lifetime of adventures.
And here’s the real tear-jerker: our family and close friends can also use our account, and we’d get loyalty points on top of that.
Let me tell you, as a digital nomad who craves a touch of luxury, I knew we’d be fools to pass up such a cosmic win-win.
So, yes, in January, the loyalty points will start to accrue, and we’ll definitely be heading back to thank Rich and Nik personally when we relish our stay at this magnificent 5-star haven.
And that, my friends, is how you turn skepticism into a divine appointment with luxury. Especially when Dave and I were discussing if we would come back to Phuket when we were stopped.. Ha!
Would I give Phuket a 7? Absolutely, and then some. The island is not just a destination; it’s an experience that enriches your life in ways that numbers simply can’t capture. The views are absolutely amazing and the scenery especially the places where it isn’t too touristy like Samet Nangshe, yes it was a 90 minute drive from Patong beach, but well worth it! We will definitely be back, especially with our wins!
And there you have it—our journey through Phuket, an island that doesn’t just tantalize your senses but also nourishes your soul. As we traversed its vibrant landscapes, it felt as if the island was whispering ancient secrets, waiting to be discovered by souls eager for life’s deeper meanings.
It’s not just a destination; it’s a spiritual experience, a treasure trove of lessons learned, emotions felt, and soulful connections made.
We journeyed through both the luxurious and the budget-friendly, the cosmopolitan and the sacred. And in each, we found unique offerings to our spirit.
Whether it was the electrifying energy emanating from Wat Chalong, or the spiritual tranquility offered by the viewpoints, every corner of this island is imbued with a sacredness that can’t be ignored.
The culinary escapades offered an eclectic blend of flavors that felt like blessings to our palate, while our unexpected luxury experience with Club Unique became a testament to how the Universe indeed works in magical ways.
And let’s not forget the beaches—each a unique sanctuary where the water doesn’t just wet your skin but cleanses your soul.
From Phrom Thep Cape’s soul-stirring vistas to the lively vibes of Patong Beach, the island serves a heavenly concoction of natural beauty and spirited living.
Perhaps the most poignant lesson we take away from this soulful sojourn is that luxury isn’t just material—it’s also experiential and spiritual. It’s the luxury of embracing new perspectives, of taking risks that yield bountiful rewards, and of allowing our spirits to soar to new heights.
It’s the luxury of choice, of freedom, and most importantly, of meaningful connection—to the land, its people, and our inner selves.
So would I give Phuket a rating? Numbers simply can’t do justice to an experience that transcends the physical and ventures into the realm of the soulful.
It’s like trying to capture the essence of a sunset in a single photograph—it’s beautiful but doesn’t quite grasp the ethereal magic of the moment.
As we close this chapter, but not the book, on our Phuket adventure, we find ourselves not just tourists but soul travelers, humbled and enriched by the lessons we’ve gathered.
The island has been more than just a pin on our travel map; it’s been a spiritual waypoint in our ongoing journey through life.
So, as you contemplate your next destination, consider making Phuket not just a travel plan but a spiritual expedition.
Let the island guide you through an inner exploration as enriching as its lush jungles and as deep as its turquoise seas.
Safe travels, kindred souls, and may your path be as spiritually fulfilling as our expedition through Phuket. Namaste.

How’s the Nightlife? Balance of Yin and Yang?
Live music, good vibes, and maybe a full moon party — it’s where your inner Buddha meets your inner Beyoncé. Around Bangla road area is where it’s all happening, but can be a bit too much if your not into loud music and shots!
Safe travels and may your journey through Phuket be as enriching to your soul as it has been to mine. Namaste.
