Arriving in Sharm El Sheikh
After a 14-hour journey, we finally arrived in Sharm El Sheikh and were hit with a blast of dry heat as we got off the plane.
Despite the exhaustion, we were excited to explore this new destination.
We were relieved to find out that the taxi ride to our hotel, Cyrene Sharm, was only 15 minutes away.
The hotel was located in Sharks Bay, surrounded by derelict buildings. However, as soon as we entered the hotel, we forgot about the surroundings.
Hotel and Food Experience
The hotel experience was a bit shabby, to say the least. The food was horrendous and we struggled to find something we liked to eat. Ann, being a foodie, was quite disappointed.
During our stay in Sharm El Sheikh, we were lucky enough to visit some fantastic restaurants. One of our favourites was the iconic Hard Rock Cafe, where we were transported back in time with its incredible collection of music memorabilia.
But the highlight of our culinary experience had to be at the Italian restaurant, Casa Mai in Shark’s Bay.
Thanks to the exceptional service of Mahrous Elsadek, we were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived until we left.
The food was truly amazing, and we felt like we were dining in a high-end restaurant in Milan rather than in Sharm El Sheikh.
If you’re ever in the area, we highly recommend stopping by Casa Mai for an unforgettable dining experience.
Quad Bike Safari
We experienced a safari with quad bikes in the sunset, which was in the desert and full of laughter and exhilaration.
We were even allowed to free lance our own quads with only one instructor.
Afterward, we were shown the moon and stars of Mercury through the lens of a powerful telescope.
Then we had a beautiful evening meal in the presence of a fire display, with a man throwing balls of fire in a sequence of trepidation and skill, with Egyptian music as a backdrop.
Exploring Cairo
One day, we decided to take a day trip to Cairo via plane. We had to leave at 4 am and returned at 10 pm the same day. The trip included visiting the Egyptian Museum, where we experienced King Tut’s secret room, all the memorabilia from the Egyptian architects, and sailing up the Nile to have lunch on another boat!
The highlight of the day was visiting the Pyramid of Giza. As we placed our hands on the pyramids, we felt the energy flowing through our hands and third eye.
Ann even asked the energy of the pyramids to remind her of forgotten memories from her past lives in Egypt, as it felt familiar as soon as she landed in Cairo.
The Touts
We also experienced the madness of the touts with their continual asking for money.
We used humor to deal with them, especially when they forced us to take a ‘gift’ of headwear from them and wanted money in return.
Ann proceeded to give them the gift of humbug sweets, to which they wanted their ‘gift’ back.
Diving in the Red Sea
We also went on a boat trip to Ras Mohamed and the White Island, where Dave deep dived on a few occasions.
It was scary trusting the machinery and trusting the diving instructor as Dave had never dived before.
It was an exhilarating experience to be in the life of the sea animals, which was better than anything he had experienced.
Everything was crystal clear and the aquatic life of forty or so different types of fish all different colors and sizes.
Certain types were around the reef and the deeper we went the bigger they were.
We booked all our trips from sea college dive club and want to thank them especially Kaleb, for making our stay one of adventure and a 5 star experience.
They were so friendly and helpful and gave us exactly what we asked for. Go check them out if you are in Sharm El Sheikh, and tell them Scottish Ann and Dave sent you!
What an amazing trip to experience, while looking at the photos, I had some very strange feelings in my body, almost to the point of losing my breath, Tingling, my trip is in my LOP. It came up when I did my first CYD with William, the Greek islands also came up.
I absolutely love this… Yes energy was outstanding and the energy centres in my hands, third eye area and power centre were activated. Amazing experience. Keep the vision as you will get to those lovely destinations
May I just say what a comfort to discover a person that actually understands what they are discussing on the internet. You actually know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people have to look at this and understand this side of your story. I was surprised youre not more popular since you surely have the gift.
Thank you for your comment. I only write from my own experience as this does make a difference to the people who would like to visit Egypt and also the natives of Egypt.
